A court has heard that a Nigerian man who took part in a brawl in Dublin city centre in 2010, sexually assaulted two women in the same area just nine months later.

He is one of four men who went on a violent rampage in the Temple Bar area almost four years ago.

In the early hours of October 10, 2010, a total of five people were beaten during a brawl in the Temple Bar area.

One victim suffered seizures for months afterwards and another needed to have a cheek implant surgically fitted.

Olu wa femi Adetunji and Nero Omoruyi of North Circular Road appeared in court today after pleading guilty to assault and public order offences.

Their two co-accused were previously handed suspended sentences.

The court was also told that Mr Adetunji sexually assaulted two women at a nightclub in Temple Bar just nine months later.

Both victims told Gardaí he put his hand up their skirts and one described how he forcefully grabbed her between her legs.

"It turned my stomach," she said, "and I can't stop thinking about it."

All matters have been put back until next week.
